blog rolls?

No. I'm not talking about the extra rolls I have been getting by sitting at the computer bloggin' instead of getting off my bum to work out.

I'm talking about a way to keep up with all the blogs out there. I have quite a list saved on my favorites on my computer, but I want to know what you all use that will tell you if your blog on your reader list has been updated. I'm thinking I need to save some time with all the blogs I read. I am NOT looking for one to publish on my blog. I have way too many blogs that I follow. I'd run out of room on my sidebar for sure if I posted all of them.

Tell me what you use and where to find it, how to sign up, whether you are happy about it, or if it's a pain to follow. Thx!

when you customize, you add a gadget, and it's the blog list one. you don't have to show all the blogs you read (you add them to your list, but you can show the 5 that are most recently updated... or 10 or 20... or all. i really like it, it saves me from clicking on all my blogs i read, and finding old posts i've already read.

I use "google reader" to keep up with all the blogs I don't want on my actual blog. It's super because I can keep separate folders for blogs I want to check all the time, and those I just care to check occasionally. The only thing that is annoying is that it sometimes doesn't get the updates immediately, so I have sometimes missed a post from someone. Another bummer is that you don't see the actual blog background, just the content and pictures. I would like to find a better one too...

Oops. To find google reader just log in to your google account and click on "my account". Then their will be a "reader" option with directions.

I use this handy dandy method called: catching up about once a week or when I find down time to veg over blogs. :)

I love Google Reader! You can tag items (like when I find great ideas for things I can do with my preschool, I "tag" it "preschool" - then can easily pull it up when looking for preschool ideas). If you want to go to the person's actual blog, rather than read it in the "reader" with the white background, then you just click on the little arrow next to the post title. It will then open a new window showing the persons blog and their post. You can also subscribe to comments on a particular post as well.

A new feature in blogger: you can "follow blogs" (see it in your dashboard), and updated blogs will show in there as well.

Good luck - let us know what you end up with!

I use my blog reader every day...it is an option on your blog dashboard page, click on it & pop the URL's of your fave blogs & let it do the rest....very handy. I get lazy though by having it though...I can accumulate days worth of posts that I mean to comment on but forget because I have already read the post in my blog reader...then I have to sit like I am now & catch up with commenting.
See my slackness in commenting is not because I don't luv ya...blame my blog reader.
