Banana Bread

I keep buying bananas just so I can make this recipe. It is by far the best banana bread recipe that I've ever used. I actually hate to eat bananas. I think bananas ruin any shake or smoothie that they're in. However, this is the one (and only) way I will eat bananas. Enjoy.

Banana Bread

1 cup softened butter
1 1/2 cups sugar
4 eggs
4-6 bananas
1 tsp salt
2 tsp baking soda
2 tsp vanilla
4 cups of flour
1 cup crushed walnuts

Cream together sugar and butter. Add eggs. Mix well. Add bananas. Mix well.

Add remaining ingredients and thoroughly mix. Divide into two greased bread pans. Bake at 325 for One hour and 15 minutes. Remove from oven and have a piece while it is still warm. Then have another. These loaves freeze beautifully and thaw on the countertop in a few hours.

I have to agree on eating bananas and putting them in smoothies..YUCK! It isn't a texture thing either - it is a flavor thing! I do love banana bread though (I know it is like loving tomato soup and ketchup and hating tomatoes). I will give this one a try.

So this isn't the one we made in college? I was thinking I had your recipe from then. I love bananas but not so much in smoothies. And I don't care for tomatoes but love tomato soup and ketchup for that matter! Also I like your homemade Christmas idea but I doubt I'm going to get that crafty this year. I am making my girls tutus at Rebecca's when I visit her (it was an enrichment project they had).

My daughter and I are that way too, we hate bananas in anything but banana bread.

I have the tomato thing too, I thought I was more alone on that one. I've tried my entire adult life to like raw tomatoes, and it isn't happening. It's all a texture thing for me.

I don't like tomatoes, or tomato soup or ketchup!! My siblings loved tomato soup growing up and I wanted to be like them, so I would try so hard to swallow the yucky soup. Finally I gave up. I just don't like it.

Bananas overpower anything that u put them in. Shakes, smoothies, soups, cereal, sandwiches, bread. I like the bread though! Try adding a little sour cream to the mixture. It makes the bread so nice and moist!
