Growing up, my parents always used a pressure cooker, mostly to cook potatoes and such. I helped too, and it always made me nervous...carrying the pressure cooker level, over to the sink, and pouring water over the top until it was calm enough to open the lid. However, it was always under my parents watchful eye, and we were always told exactly how long to let it "pressure".
I requested a pressure cooker for my wedding present, because I knew how one speeded up the cooking time. But when I got it, nerves kicked in and I've never used it. Well, once, when my sister in law was visiting, we got it out and she made something with it, but I never have. Quite frankly, I'm afraid of it.
Anyone have any tips for me on how to use and become friends with my pressure cooker?
