Last week, my sister linked me to a recipe where she said "it just reminded me of you". It was a recipe for nutella hot chocolate. I've had another friend express how much she loves nutella hot chocolate as well, but I've never tried it. To be frank, although The Husband is in love with nutella (and yes, I believe he would marry it if he could) I have never been very partial to it. It's alright, but nothing I need to drool over.
However, it was a long and chilly day, and by the time the kids went to bed, I needed an indulgence. Lucky for me, The Husband got two big jars of nutella for Christmas (from Santa), so I had all the ingredients I needed to make the recipe.
I made it, and ooh la la. It was fabulous, and very worth sharing the recipe. The original post is HERE. Now, let's make it! (Regarding the picture, I got overambitious with the whipped cream. I promise you, the hot chocolate is underneath, and delicious.)
Nutella Hot Chocolate
1 cup milk
3 Tbsp Nutella
1 Tbsp Cocoa
1 tsp sugar
Pinch of salt
Combine all the ingredients in a saucepan, and whisk to combine. Heat through, but do not boil. Once hot enough, remove from heat and pour into your mug. You can top it with homemade whipped cream for some extra jazz.
Whipped Cream
1 cup Heavy Whipping Cream
2 Tbsp Sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
In your mixer, combine ingredients and beat on high for 7-10 minutes, until stiff peaks form. Spoon over your hot chocolate.
Hope you find the opportunity to try this! Even if you don't LOVE nutella, you might just LOVE this hot chocolate. I sure did.

oh yummy!!! We are going to have to try this. Thanks for sharing!!! =)
That looks awesome! Another great use for Nutella--I have to say that I agree with Heath on that one. Also, HOOOOOOORAAAAAYY, for Kimble. That is such great news about his heart. He is one special little boy and we are so happy for the whole family that he's doing so well.
Hum I thought that you loved Nutella, I guess I confused you and kim. Oh well though I am glad you liked it. I guess now I will have to try it out. I do not have the stuff to make homemade whip cream so that frozen stuff is gonna have to do.
