Destination

We will be moving to South Carolina. Charleston, to be specific.

So all you unknown lurkers out there...give me some info about that area. I have never been in the eastern part of the U.S. I'm feeling a bit timid.

We will be making a cross country drive in a few weeks. I'm not sure how the kids will do. We have one week to do it. What do you think?

Oh Shaina, I'm so glad you guys have employment, but do you have to move so far away?! I'm sad that its going to be hard to see you. Well, I guess we'll thrive on reunions, blogs, emails, and phone conversations. Love Ya!

Yes, where did SC come from? Job offer?

I'm an East Coast girl so I'm biased but it's great. SC gets very humid and hot in the summer but the winters aren't bad. Charlston is supposed to be beautiful.

More details please... And congrats!

Wow Shaina! What an adventure! Do you think they scrapbook over there? ;) Well, James has always wanted to get back to visit the south (he served his mission in Atlanta). Being able to visit you would give us the perfect excuse to do it! I think you should be able to do it in a week. Jeff and Megan just went from Missouri to Spokane in four days.

Shaina, I already emailed my two cents, but let me add some optimism here for you as well. Charleston is so central on the east coast that you will not run out of fun day and weekend trips! You'll be very close to Atlanta, where there is a lovely new IKEA, and let's face it, where there's IKEA there is joy! At least for me. ;) Also, you will be so close to so much history, so many temples, some lovely beaches, and even Disney World! I have lived all over the United States including 10 years in Florida and I went up and down the east coast several times. You will really enjoy it if you make even the slightest effort.
PS We made our trip from Travis to Nashville in four days and that was taking the roads less traveled and with a cat, hamster, Neina, Simon, Ian , Me and one very sick dog! You'll be fine! Make the most of it. Let me know your final route plans and I can help you find some cool things to see on the way!
