Hippie Hippie

Granola is really the only cereal I've ever liked to eat. Although I don't eat it with milk, it's still a great breakfast for me. My friend Bethany gave me the recipe for this. Hop on over to her blog and take a look. She has four girls, and just found out that her fifth baby is a boy! A big congrats to her.
This recipe is about as easy as they come. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Of course, I have made my own variations from this recipe. Feel free to adjust to your liking.
6 cups of oats (doesn't matter if they are quick cooking or not)
1/2 cup wheat germ
1/2 cup powdered milk
2 tsp cinnamon
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup coconut (I left this out)
2/3 cup honey
2/3 cup vegetable oil
1 tsp vanilla
In a small bowl, combine the honey, oil, and vanilla. Set aside. In a large bowl, combine the dry ingredients. Mix well. Pour the honey mixture over the oat mixture and stir to combine. Divide evenly between two greased baking sheets in a thin layer. Bake at 350 for about 12 minutes, until lightly golden brown. Remove from oven and give it a quick stir.
As it is cooling on the counter top, sprinkle in some craisins and some slivered almonds. When it is completely cooled, transfer to an airtight container. That's it.

That looks like a great recipe. Nathan makes his own granola once every 3 weeks. That is pretty much the only time you will see him cooking in the kitchen.
