Quick Update

Just wanted to let you all know that the procedure in the Cath Lab is done. Kimble pulled through excellently. The doctors said it went better than expected. He now has his pulmonary valve open and blood is flowing through it and to the lungs. We now wait and see if his right ventricle, which is so thick and muscle-bound, will relax and form a cavity for the blood to go, and eventually get pumping like it should. It will be about 4 days of waiting and watching Kimble and seeing what his body does, before we go to the next step.

We are so grateful for you all, whether we know you personally or just through this wonderful network. Your thoughts, comments, prayers, love, and support have really touched Heath and I so much. I will continue to give you updates everyday on our sweet baby.

I'm happy to hear that things are going as well as can be expected! I hope you can rest and enjoy the next few days of waiting.

And I'm very glad you have internet access!

I happen to pop online for a second and was thinking about you guys. That is wonderful news. I am so happy things went so well. Relax and get some sleep in the next few days and just enjoy holding and kissing you amazing little boy.

You don't know me, but I found your blog on the evening of Oct 30. 8 hours later, I delivered my baby boy 12 weeks early.

I just wanted to say thank you for sharing your story. You have kept such a positive attitude throughout your pregnancy. When I went into labor rapidly and unexpectedly, I feel like your positive attitude stayed with me and helped keep me calm and relaxed.

My little boy is doing well for his gestational age. We are at St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction (but live 3 hours away in Crested Butte). Sounds like the care you are receiving is as top notch as we are getting here. The people in NICU are simply incredible.

I'll keep checking in to see how Kimble progresses. And I have added your family to our prayers.

Warm thoughts,
Mary Kay

P.S. I decided to follow the advice of several nurses and let myself sleep through the night without worrying about pumping every 3 hours. I usually wake up after 4 hours or so, but that extra 1 - 2 hours has made a HUGE difference in how I feel. And the milk keeps flowing just fine.
