The Crinkly Crunchie Taggie Softie Blankie Toy GIVEAWAY!

Kimble's favorite toy is the plastic baby wipes container.  He loves crinkling it and smooshing it and caressing it.  It keeps him occupied during the changing of the diapers, as well as when I'm getting myself ready and need him to be entertained.  He loves it so much!

So last week, when the last of the wipes were used, and I was left with an empty plastic pouch, I started to throw it in the trash.  But wait.  Why not make a toy for Kimble out of it?  I've been meaning to make him a little taggie blanket, and so I thought I'd incorporate the two things together.

What evolved was a tag blanket with soft minky on one side and cute brown flowery material on the other side.  Sewn between the two layers is the plastic from the wipes pouch.  The result is amazing.  It's soft and crinkly and crunchie and taggie and KIMBLE LOVES IT!

I actually took pictures along the way to make a tutorial for you, but the Husband said "Absolutely not. This is so cool!  You are going to sell these on Etsy!"  I didn't even know he knew what Etsy was!

So my question for all of you is threefold.  What shall I name this?  Would it sell?  How much should I charge for it?  Leave me a comment, answering my questions, and I'll choose a winner on Friday (April 30th) to get their very own Crinkly Crunchie Taggie Softie Blankie Toy (or whatever name you guys come up with that sounds much better!)

Oh, and if you have a baby in your life, or know someone who does, make sure you check out my previous post for the most clever thing every breastfeeding mom should have!  Also, if you have any empty baby wipes plastic pouches..could I have them?  I'll be needing lots.

I love it! When my kids were babies I bought them these little blanket things that were silky on one side and soft flannel on the other side. We called it the silky. They were about 10 inches square. They are 10, 9, and 6 and still have them... By the time I had #4 I couldn't find anything like it so brother (the 6 year old) gave her his and we now call it the LOVEY you could call yours a crinkle lovey blanket.. :)

I am so glad to hear that my little boy Elliott is not the only baby to love playing with the wipes container. Man, that little plastic thing has saved me so many times. I got to carrying around one in my purse for distractions while I tried to grocery shop. I think you could sell them for 15 dollars or so, I would so buy one.
I think the Crinkle is a cute catchy name. By the way, he is so adorable..love those soft chubby cheeks :)

Great idea! and yay for hubby! I don't have little ones at home any more (but a daydream about grandchildren sneaks in occasionally) I am a pediatric nurse and my co-workers are ALWAYS having babies. Sometimes I just don't have time to make a quilt so I would definitely buy one of these. Ten dollars seems about right. I'm not too good at naming things...hmmm.....you have to have crinkle in there......and tag.... How about something like .. 'Crinkly Lovey with tags.' ? Good luck!

I have actually made these for baby gifts. My friend showed me how they are very popular here.
I even made a robot with the same idea and I have an owl right now cut out.
Wax paper works really good as well.

My friend sells them at craft fairs and just calls them taggels.
(I pobbley spelt it wrong.)

what in the world is wrong with calling it the Crinkly Crunchie Taggie Softie Blankie Toy??

but if you want something catchier, you could call it Crinkletags or Mr. Crinkletags (for a boy) and Miss Crinkletags (for a girl)

I think it's a "Crinkle Soft Taggie" People on Etsy will be searching for taggies and getting the crinkle in the name will make it different. What an awesome idea - Josh loves his taggie, but having one that makes noise? Awesome.

Oh, his looks a lot like yours and I bought it from a local shop that carries handmade goods for $22. I think you could sell the crinkle ones for $25-$28...

I think that is the best product ever and foresee a lot of sewing in your future. You should name it Crinkly Lovey

So dang cute. I love your crafts and I will totally get one for Jakob. Might want to check on using the word taggie though in case they have it trademarked. other wise I LOVE them.

I think it way cute! A baby's friend for sure.

I like Purejoy's idea for the name. :)

If I saw it for sale I'd buy it if it were around $6 or so.

Hmm. Lots of good suggestions above. I had thought to suggest one that someone already said, so I've come up with Crinkly Taggie Lovey. That way it pretty much explains that it makes noise, has the tags that all kids are fascinated by, and also suggest softness because of the "lovey" part. My son is already almost 19-months old, and I bet even HE would love this! I think you could probably sell them for around $15-20, or you could also offer a bigger one for $25-30.

Tell Heath he is a party pooper! That being said, you go girl. I wish I could think of something to make out of the garbage my kids like to play with and sell it. Good luck. I think it would sell great and something between $5-10 should do it.

Love your blog and have been following you for a year now. Here is my suggestion. I would call it Talking Taggie and charge $15.00 for it. Just my thoughts. Good luck with it.

that is adorable. i searched tag blanket or security blanket in etsy when looking for my daughters "bink" as she calls it now. I agree crinkle and taggie needs to be in the name too - my daughter suggested crinkle taggie bink. I paid somewhere between $25 and $30 for hers, handmade talent is sooo worth it to me.

The Kimble blankie. $12. Ammon has one with minky on one side and pattern on other. Super cute!

What a great idea! I would think around $10-15. It would be neat if you could keep with your family "K" theme and have a Krinkle. Best of luck!

I think the comment above about avoiding "taggies" for copyright reasons is spot on. The name should be short, catchy, easy-to-remember. hmmm...

How about "The Krunchie" or "The Kimble Krunchie"???

You could include a tagline that is more descriptive. Something like, "A plush mini-blanket your infant will love to cuddle and explore"

Oh, or maybe you could call it !

Whoops - forgot the second part of the question...

Price between $15 and $20.

Do you have the ability to personalize / monogram? If so, add another $5 - $8 for customization.

Maybe price closer to $20 and include free shipping, which everybody loves! It shouldn't cost you much to ship since "The Krunchie" is light and compact...

That thing is CUTE (the blanket and the baby)!!! As I read through the comments, I totally had in my mind that it should start with a "K", and I thought Ali's idea is perfect. The Krinkle. I love it.

I would think you should sell it for around $10, but I always think things are too expensive so maybe the higher prices quoted in the comments would be appropriate. I don't know.

I like it!
