On this day, we made some yummy Russian Tea and brought it hot and fresh to our neighbor's house. We told them what it was, and that it was made with Tang, and the guy said "Didn't know Tang was still around!"
Growing up, we had Tang all the time. It was pretty much the go-to drink for all our family reunions. We kept it in those big cooler jugs that football players dump on their coach at the end of a game. Sometimes, we wouldn't finish all the Tang during the campouts at the rec center. Weeks later, as my siblings and cousins were out exploring, we'd find the tang still in the container, and we'd help ourselves to cups and cups of it. There is question about whether Tang can ferment and become alcoholic. Then again, maybe we were just wild and crazy kids acting like we were drunk. Who knows.
Anyway, we make Russian tea by mixing up a few quarts of Tang. We add some lemon juice, some cloves, ginger, maple syrup (our secret ingredient) and a dash of cayenne pepper. Heath through and serve.
We think Russian Tea is super. You should give it a try.
