Day 6 CHRISTmas: Santa Letters

You may be wondering what writing to Santa has to do with the spirit of CHRISTmas, but I assure you, there is service to be found!

Last month, and our Mended Little Hearts parent support meeting, we discovered a little something about the Make A Wish Foundation.  Located at every Macy's store is a special red mailbox.  If you bring your stamped envelope, addressed to Santa Claus at The North Pole, and drop it in, Macy's will donate $1 dollar to the Make A Wish Foundation.

Even better, this Friday (Dec 9) is a double donation day.  Macy's will double the donation, at $2 dollars per letter.  (If you follow the link, they even have a Santa Letter form you can fill out and then print off.)

Help make a child's dream come true.  Have your kids write a letter to Santa and drop it in your Macy's mailbox.  Such a simple act of service could help change  the life of a special little boy or girl.

Here are my kids' letters.  They are all ready to go in the envelopes, ready to be mailed.  (I couldn't find Kolby's this morning, but will add it to this post once it's discovered.)  We explained to the kids, as they were writing the letters, that they were contributing 10 dollars to someone's wish. That's pretty cool.  I know many of you have a handful of kids yourself.  Think about the difference we can make, if we all work together.  Again, sometimes it's the simple things that make the most impact.

This is such a great experience for you guys! Service is great! You guys are awesome examples! Thanks for sharing all of these great acts of service. Makes me want to serve more! Love the letters to Santa, so cute. I'm going to have to do that with my girls. =)

We might just have to bring our letters to Macy's. We might just have to write letters instead of lists on post-its...hmmm. :) I love Kamy's list. I can see Zac purchasing her jewelry one day!
